Great customer brought me in his FJ cruiser having already done his Mazda 5 wagon. All in all there was some bad swirling but the main problem was very hazy paint and a lot of organic fallout all over the car. His neighbor has a large tree which dumps leaves on this car. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of my clay bar after just his hood but it was filled with sap and road tar. Those who live in or around Tampa and have to travel any of the interstates especially 275 I4 know what I am talking about. Just miserable construction conditions. The tar spots were very small and most came up easily with Tarminator. Didnt have time for many pics as I was pressed for time on this one. So sorry no 50/50s and very few befores.
Process:
P21s Wheel cleaner for wheels (I like this stuff as much as Sonax Full effect)
OPC at 4:1 for tire cleaning
Daytona bush, wheel woolies for wheels
Tarminator to remove all tar spots
Dawn wash
Clayed using Clay magic mild with HD final touch as clay lube
HD UNO on PCXP with Megs MF cutting disk 5.5" (pad primed with D300 prior to UNO)
OPC at 10:1 for door jambs and trim.
Stoners IG for windows
Inside OPC 10:1 all trims
1ZCP for all plastics
Floorboards dressed with 303 (they are all plastic under the mats)
Mats vacuumed and only 1 stain was visible and treated with Biokleen Traffic lane cleaner)
Dressings:
303 on all trim
BFWD as LSP
FK1000 on wheels
CarPRo PERL on tires
On to the pics. My DSLR is still giving me fits, searching ebay for a good used one. Had to use the wife coolpix 15 mgpixel camera
Haziness on upper rear quarter panel
Close up of haziness
Clarity after polish but no IPA wipe yet ( this damn camera cant really capture the clarity of this pic...I know, i know..it aint the arrows, its the indians)
Hood after polish but before IPA wipedown
Like I said very few before pics. Heres the glam and sun shots
FINALLY the sun peeked out from behind this damn cloud
Completed vehicle
Thanks for reading. Happy detailing in Florida weather. Was about 75 degrees all day, just a pleasure to work on it because the owner really did a wonderful job of maintenance on it with bad circumstances. Interior was very well kept.
