2002 VW Beetle (red)...lots of pics

Another detail from last weekend...a red 2002 (or maybe 2001?) VW Beetle. An interesting note about this car...it appeared to have never been cleaned...EVER. I didn’t get a pic of it, but there was a fairly large sized SPIDER living on a good sized web that was between the driver side mirror and the front quarter panel! I knocked it down before thinking to take a pic...but it had obviously been there a while...and amazes me when I think back to seeing it.

Process:

--multiple wash passes on each panel with DG CWC

--clay w/ Zaino clay

--wipedown w/ PB S&G

--OC w/ orange LC

--OP w/ white LC

--sealed w/ DG PBA and 105

--interior mats got Folex...really needed pressure washing...but time limitations and (low) $$$ paid by owner stopped that

--vac interior, damp MF wipedown...then 303. Aquawax on interior doorpanel paint

--303 on exterior trim

it took just under 7 hours. i blanked out the bumper sticker out of habit. i actually think it's funny to blank out license plates and such...considering we have to drive around with them on display. i just do it as a courtesy. :)

That DG 105 is looking quite good on that red. My red G looks very similar only a bit darker. The look is very good, as your pics show.

Very nice results on your hard work!

Regards,

Mike

Good grief, that car was a bit of a mess before hand. Excellent work brigning both the interior and exterior back to life, its looking sweet now. :2thumbs:

Looks great! How big is that dash? It looks like it would take my whole arm-length to reach the inside of the front windshield!

Truly excellent work! Really nice job on the paint but the interior is most impressive. I've done a few and that carpet is pure crap, total PITA to vacuum and clean. Looks like you really got it looking good. :up
