Great work! That looks a whole heck of alot better than it did. Were those scratches below the gas tank or just dirt?I don't understand why people buy black cars and then not keep them clean. By the way it is a 2001.:) Hopefully they keep the truck this way now.

Sure was a plethora of products on this detail.

It really shows that it is not the product but the process that gives result.

Nice pictures, John!!

Thanks everyone.

HyundaiLvr87 -Yes those were deep scratches, and paint transfer from rubbing against something. Maybe the owner uses the back quarter as a 'rubbing post' :) - I don't know. There were well over a dozen R.I.D.S in the finish. I should have taken before shots of the wiper arms. Both are almost completely rusted through in a few spots, and the rubber on the blade is barely hanging on. It's amazing to see how fast the surfaces can erode, when you do nothing. Many people still believe that clear coat is a 'life time' wax and that you don't have to do anything to maintain your car.

I clayed a few sections and it produced horrible marring. The paint felt like chalk on the flats.

Sean, The tires were trashed and a mess to clean. NL x 2, and Turbo-wax-tire-gel x 1 and the tires still managed to dry out.

Bence: I several CG products (I wanted to try them out).
They've been hit and miss for me.

Products that I like:
-Maxi Suds
-Extreme Body Wash
-VRT (but there was a learning curve for me).
-Wax & Seal Express Wax
-The QD spray is good (I forget what it's called).

My neighbor uses the wheel/tire cleaner, and loves it.

The M-Seal, Nano sealer that I used yesterday produced a very slick finish. It went on easy, but for a thin coat is was a bit of work to take off. I think there are better choices out there.

Overall, I think CG's has a decent lineup -and they don't charge boutique prices. There are only a few CG products that I would keep around for my personal vehicles, but I think many of us keep a stash set aside for our own rides.

cwcad: I needed a combo that would level down the eye sores, and improve the overall look/gloss of the finish quickly. I only had a few hours for this detail. On a well maintained finish, FTG adds a touch to the overall look. On a neglected surface you can really see this product shine.
