Hey everyone. Great forum! I decided to join today to ask a question.

I am going to be swaping in a complete interior from a later model into my '90 VW Corrado. The "new" used interior came from a car that was parked in a lot for many years w/o being cared for. Obviously I have some questions on steps to take to improve the look and feel of the materials.

I noticed that some of the leather (rear headrests especially) are really dry and hard. It must have been sitting in the sun for all those years. I think Leatherique would be the best sutible product for the task of cleaning and rejuvinating the leather. Anyone disagree?

Now, I had to repair some parts of the door cards that were coming unglued, and while doing this I noticed that the door cards were not leather, but vinyl, wonderful.... What would be the best approach to clean these? They do not look as bad as the seating, just a good cleaning and some protection would be in order. So I assume need a whole different line of product to work on these, no?

Lastly, back to the seats, there are a couple of scuffs on the leather and some wear on the side bolsters (normal for an interior out of a '93 car). What would be the best course of action to repair these blemishes?

This all sounds like it's going to cost me some bucks to buy all the proper products! If you recommend a product, please also recommend a supplier for that product!

Thanks in advance for the help.

uh oh, no spell check on this forum :(

Like bretfraz :bow I second the Leatherique approach.

For vinyl, my favorite for the past year has been Einszett Plastik Reniger (available from the Autopia store, among others). I can't believe how gentle and yet aggressive it is.

Can't give any tips about "repairing" the leather seats. Fortunately, I haven't had to deal with that particular problem yet. Have you checked the articles on Autopia? Click on the "Learn" icon above. But I can't remember whether there's an article that addresses that topic.
