WHAT ARE GOOD TOWELS FOR DRYING AND BUFFING

GSM is more about the weight of the towel. So it comes down to do you want a thicker heavier towel or a thinner lighter version? In my experience the GSM is not necessarily as important as the brand / type of towel. If you stick with a reputable brand that has a quality product you should be...

WHAT ARE GOOD TOWELS FOR DRYING AND BUFFING

I mostly stick to Microfiber Madness & The Rag Company towels. They would have all the different types and sizes of towels you would need.

CCS Pad and Backing Plate Size.

yeah with changes in machines and technology I don’t know of a lot of 4in pads and plates anymore. I know that there are some. Here are some and if you look at their descriptions some tell you what the pad size is and the backing plate needed as well...

CCS Pad and Backing Plate Size.

I think this is the info you are looking for. The old UDM doesn’t have much power so I would go with a max of a 5in pad or possibly a smaller 3 or 4in. https://www.autogeek.net/lc43125.html I was never really a fan of the CCS pads but they will work...

Changing of the guard at Optimum

I would be interested in hearing what products from both Optimum and McKee's you have used and your thoughts on each of those products. To me it is odd to come into such an old thread (2019) and make a statement without any explanation.

    PANEL WIPES

I agree with TGates ^. An AIO is a time-saving one-step that Cleans / Corrects and protects. If planning on using a Panel Wipe then I wouldn't be using an AIO; since the point of the AIO is to leave protection and using a Panel wipe would be undoing some of the work. Also if "stacking"...

    PANEL WIPES

I don't consider anything band new that is over 2-3 months old unless it simply hasn't been driven. As soon as you start driving it we are introducing the elements and bird bombs, bug splatter, dirt, etc... So I would be putting something on asap.

    PANEL WIPES

The popularization and mainstream use of most panels wipes didn't come around until the introduction of coatings. Before coatings were introduced most all of the common Panel Wipes didn't exist. So can you use them? - Absolutely. Will they increase the durability? - Possibly...

    PANEL WIPES

I still think panel wipes are a waste for most Waxes and Sealants. I really only use panel wipes for coatings.

    PANEL WIPES

My number one choice has been CarPro Eraser. I think Gyeon Prep is similar. I have also used Gtechniq Panel Wipe, Optimum Panel wipe. I get similar results from all of them. Some a slicker or seem to be stronger. But in the end I think it’s finding one and using it and changing if you don’t...

Confessions of an Old Forum Member by Captain Obvious

I don't think I can speak on this as a whole. In my experience it seems to be the case of our modern world and the "Google" generation. So many people are now so used to being able to ask Google / Siri / Alexa a question and getting immediate responses and never seem to double check if the...

Confessions of an Old Forum Member by Captain Obvious

I am seeing this even here and on other forums. People want someone to just give them a list of the "best" products and tell them what to do vs researching and learning for themselves.

    topping CSL

I have always had great durability from CQuartz UK 3.0. In the past I used it @ 2-layers as well as topped with CQuartz Ti02 which would now be replaced by CQuartz SiC. I had my double application last 4+ years before I polished and redid the application with something new. For history CSL...

    topping CSL

A polish should remove CSL from my experience. Again the starting over is my opinion because I am all about doing it "right" to get the best results. You can absolutely just do a light decon and go over it with EXO if you want. I am just reminding everyone that you can't expect full...

    topping CSL

From Gtechniq: "If you are applying over CSL, EXOv5 can either be applied straight away starting the process at the same place you did with CSL. For best results wait two hours before applying to let the product flash-off longer." They don't say anything specifically about not being able to...

Road Salt Remover / Neutralizer ?

I have been around for quite awhile and one thing that I keep looking for and think possibly is missing in my “Winter Car Care” cleaning selection is a Road Salt Remover / Neutralizer. Being in Ohio and dealing with road salt issues every winter has me looking for an option for something to...

‘19 VW GLI - What to use?

Well the time finally came our old ‘09 VW Jetta finally bit the dust and we decided to go with a newer Jetta GLI. This time against my better judgement and suggestions my wife decided to go with Black. I was able to work a deal and get this ordered in and was sure that they didn’t wash or prep...

Product Review - CarPro GLISS (Long Term)

Well, I finally had the chance to use CarPro GLISS. I applied it to our ’09 VW Jetta. This car has had both CQ Ti02 as well as CQUK 1.0 that both worked extremely well and lasted better that the durability claims. So I was looking forward to using GLISS. For my testing I chose to prep the...
