is this possible?

my car looked so good 2 weeks ago after i pc'd.

today i applied some z5 and there are LOOOOONNNGGGGG swirl like scrathces everywhere hood, fenders, doors,

what is going on here?, i am using a brand new towel (washed).

when you have haze you're able to move it around right??, this is permanent.

help please :(

i do not apply in long strokes like the scrathces are, if the surface was warm during wiping would that cause it?

Z5 will not cause scratches. "IF" it really is scratches it is caused by the applicator or the towel.

sounds like an applicator to me....and you did nothing else to the car since you pc'd it? b/c i just did this yesterday to mine and it came out great....but i didn't use z5.

call up zaino and discuss it with them, if you say it was a new mf towel...then as long as it hadn't been dropped you should be good to go.

hope you figure that out and rectify it

Also investigate your car washing materials and technique. Sounds like something contaminated this procedure or during drying causing the sealant to be marred. As mentioned before Z5 can not damage the surface but a rough applicator or removal towel can. Are you using ZFX? I have noticed with this additive that the instant curing really helps prevent surface marring during wipe off. If not give it a try, it is well worth it.

Zaino looks great especially the firs day. Sooner or later the repetition of washing and quick detailing will cause swirls in the zaino. It is important that you use a thourough washing technique and never quick detail between washings only after a wash.

I have used the recommended set of cotton towels for drying and QD'ing. Now I use an absorber for drying and a sea sponge for washing. In my case it wasnt really the products causing the damage, although the switch does help abit. Rather its the technique, time and care put into washing. Try using two buckets for a sponge rinse and soap. Pre rinse the car with a strong jet. Soap up the cars tops, rinse then continue to the middle and bottom portions of the car rinsing as you go.

Think ahead of time to plan every last part of the car, such wheels and runners that need to be cleaned. And dont forget to use a different mitt for the runners and wheels or anywhere REALLY dirty!

Im not saying you can keep the car from swirling. Only doing it right will keep the finish clear. If worse comes to worse just start over the whole Zaino process.

Just a thought.

No single product is meant for every car. If you must lose the swirls (I know the funky kind you are talking about) then amybe a polish, glaze and polymer sealant system will work better. It's only in an effort to cover "sub standard" factory paint.

i used 2 buckets to wash, blotted (not rubbed) dry with absorber, i think i'm safe there,

now i definetly know it was the towel (i applied z2 overnight and wiped in the morning in the opposite direction of z5, and i got scratches side to side now) hmmmm, the towel is BRANND NEW (royal velvet), washed twice in tide (liquid with some vinegar).

i remember how good my paint looked before i washed the towels second time, what killed them???

any thoughts?

I got marring on Zaino from Charisma's a couple times in the past. Now I mist the towel and surface with Z6 and I have not had a problem since. :xyxthumbs

Showroom,

I noticed that my Charismas were extremely soft when slightly damp too. Do you use that technique for buffing Zaino as well as QDing? In other words, you never use a perfectly dry Charisma on your paint anymore, right?

Tony

i c, i should have thought of that, done it with klasse before :doh ,

oh man, and i thought i had my technique perfected

thanks guys, will let you know
