wheel wax? any good

ive seen a few products claiming to protect alloy wheels from the bad weather/salt

do they really offer any more protection that something like klasse sg over aio??

i must admit my wheels need all the protection they can get, but i just figured wheel waxes were same as other stuff put in a fancy tub

fyi i have one car with regular silver painted alloys and another with mirror polished alloy..any tips welocme

I have chrome wheels and it definitely makes a difference. A little better than Aio. I was skeptical too.

so what brand are you using??

and...ive gota ask, if its all it claims to be , why not use it on the paint too...i mean road salt/mud gets on my door bottoms etc too

okay i have 2 golf gti's....whatever i put on the black plastic trims is either really greasy and dirt sticks to it, or after a rain shower it streaks or washes off

anyone tried poorboys trim restorer?? sounds okay

my car sits outside in the rain...i need heavy duty stuff

Are you referring to wheel waxes in general, or the product known as WheelWax? I use AIO/WG on my wheels, and it has held up great. IMO all you need for wheels is a typical paint sealant. Any sealant should protect your wheels just fine. AIO/SG is a great combo for use on wheels.

Yeah I'd just save my money and apply a regular sealant. AIO is a great product to apply before the sealant too.

There's always Poorboy's Wheel Sealant if you want to buy a dedicated wheel product. I've heard plenty of good reviews on that one.

"To extend the life of Wheel Wax, clean your wheels with Wheel Wax only."

Yeah I guess that would allow it to last pretty long if you reapply it every time you wash the wheels! :lol

i don't think any specialty wheel wax will give you any additional benefit over a sealant like SG. i've tried PB's Wheel Sealant on my friends car and cleaning her wheels doesn't take anymore effort than cleaning mine which are sealed with SG. in both instances, brake dust wiped right off with regular car shampoo and an MF towel.

she has factory aluminum wheels(17" Mazda6) while i have steel gray painted(17" Rota Torques) and gold painted (17" Enkei RPF1) wheels.

i'll probably just stick with SG since it gives a brighter look in my opinion, which i prefer.
