What too expect from Professional Detailing Service

I have a question for you professional detailers. My pretty new black vehicle still has some minor scratches you can only see in certain light, it shows up well under flouresent lighting though, as well as light scratches going down the plastic trim and light housings that I want to remove. The rest of the car is perfectly clean. I want to get a professional to do the work, since I'm not ready to take a PC to my car, and basically don't know what I'm doing.



So, is this type of work considered included in regular detailing packages? I just want it to look new again, the scratches aren't deep at all, I just don't have the tools/stuff to fix them. Is this something I need a specialist for, or what do I ask for? Anything else I need to know when looking for a detailer to do this? Thanks!
 
yes that is what detailers do. Best to call around town or let us know where you live. There should be someone here that lives near you.
 
I mean, should I be asking for their exterior detailing services, or do I need to stress that I have scratches in the paint and plastic trim that I want out? To make sure they give me the right quote and bring the right stuff and so on?

Read a little more on the site as to educate yourself. Detailing being a part time for myself. I can always respect someone that has done their research. Explain you have some lightswirl marks and maring that you would like to have removed, and that you were interested in a price. Anything over 200 dollars is outa the question in my book. This of course should be some sort of package. A quick degreasing of the engine bay with a nice vacume is always appreciated by my customers. I dont charge them for quickies, but if you pay you get a far better result :2thumbs:



Get to work on your PC'ing skills as its not that hard to get good at. Btw its pretty hard to ruin paint what so ever using a PC. Rotary is a different situation. :waxing:

Depending on where you are $200 may only get you a wash. :)



However as mentioned it is a good idea to specify that you have some minor marring that needs to be removed; it also helps to mention that it's black and the make/model. Stress that you want the marring removed, not hidden.
 
Just make sure you tell the detailer what you want, he should be pretty flexible working with you. He'll probably want to take a look at it before giving you a quote- sometimes it's hard to tell without actually seeing it how much work it'll take.
 
Explain what your looking for and your expectations of the finished job. Tell them you want your scratches removed not filled in . Every detailer is different in how they detail so never assume that a certain detailing package will take care of your needs . Let the detailer know exactly what you want and expect. A professional detailer will be able to cater to your needs . Best of luck . :buffing:
