What techniques do you use to keep things efficient?

I do a few things like dress the tires and trim after I polish but before I wax so dust doesn't stick to the tires.

When I shampoo I spray all the mats with APC before I start scrubbing so it gives it a chance to soak in before I get to it.

I got SIG in 5 gallons which helps a lot with the windows, I hate windows.

I'm a lot faster then I was at the begining of the summer while doing just as good a job but I'm looking for specific things I can do to save time. Any ideas?

You may want to consider making a step-by-step list of your entire detailing process. That way you would be more likely to begin to uncover something that you are doing that is inefficient. Like you mentioned, sometimes it is just the order that things are getting done that causes wasted time. Keeping track of the order in which you do things is always a good starting point with regards to speeding up the process. However, I would only change the process, if those changes will improve the overall results, with the added benefit of also saving time.
