Please help a newbie out here.

I have my first black car and want to take care of it.

It has swirl marks that I can see in the sun but overall, the paint is in good condition

after reading about some of the information on this board. (there is just too much information to digest) here is my plans.

Wash

Clay

SMR

Klasse AIO

Klasses SG

P21s Carnuba Wax

But here is the problem.. I've just ordered an PC from Amazon and have never used an PC before. I need to know what pads to get for each process after the clay and where to get them?

Can you guys point me in the right direction?

also, how does the above combination sound? is the Carnuba wax on the end a good idea or a nono.

thanks in advance for any input.

I would print it and READ and RE-READ and RE-READ the article before buying anything. It is a teriffic article on PC and pads.

Got it Accumulator.. I'm going to use SMR with white pad to see if I can get those minor swirl marks off before I go to PI III MG. If I get it out with SMR, I should just skip the PI III right???

Thanks.

Yep, if the SMR is all you need, then no reason to go to the PI-III (it's more aggressive than the SMR). See what happens. I've found the SMR/white combo to be AWFULLY mild, but maybe your situation isn't as bad. I myself would have something stronger than the SMR on hand, just in case.

Remember that the AIO will clean off any fillers from the SMR, maybe exposing remaining swirls (that's the bad news). If you use PI-III and get the hard-to-remove-residue problem, the AIO will remove IT, too (that's the good news).

As far as the wax topper, see if you feel there's something missing after you get a few coats of SG on there. But get more than one or two on before you make up your mind, if only for the protection. The topper USUALLY makes a noticeable improvement.

If the article hasn't answered all your "what pad" questions, or if you want more opinions, just ask away.
