I have a client that has emailed me a awkward detail question. He has mentioned to me that the car has been detailed by a dealership and it has come out to not looking too great. I asked what was the reason and he mentioned the paint is sunburnt? Is that possible that the paint be burned by the sun? Here are a few images that he has sent to me.

WOW!!! That is a horrible detail job. Its a dealership though so I guess you can't really expect much. At least they managed to get some areas somewhat shiny.



Looks like a bad case of oxidation to me.
 
That's what I'm honestly thinking, oxidation which is no problem for me at all, but this sunburnt crap that he mention I've never seen in person or don't know much about it ya know.
 
I have NEVER seen any thing like that on a car. I am a guitar player, and on fender guitars, the white plastic parts, over a long course of time, will turn from white to that yellowish aged color. I don't think your car is plastic (lol), but that's what it reminds me of.

Whoa! That's really pathetic!!! Since a lot of the lighter areas are on the edges and more vulnerable spots it makes me wonder if they burned through the clear. However, some areas look less likely to have that happen, so then I wonder if they just did a really crappy job of removing oxidation. Either way, someone screwed up in a major way and doesn't want to take the blame for it. I can't be sure, especially from just the pictures, but that's the way it strikes me.
 
I've seen something like this before, it looks like they put masking tape to cover the areas they didn't want the machine to get. Without a before picture this isn't very helpful.
