What do I use to remove this Scratch? *Pics*

I got another scratch on my car today. Looks like somebody scraped something along side my door. It's not that long, but definitley noticeable. Looks like it went through the clear coat and paint, and into the primer. All I see is a big white line that is pretty deep.

It's too small to consider painting the whole door (1 inch), but I wanted to cover it up and get rid of the white. Make it black or darker. What kind of compound do I get for this and where can I get it?

Are there special places online where they sell it for professionals? In my experience, they usually dont sell it in auto convenience store's such as Pep Boys or Kragen.

Thanks.

Btw, I have the whole Zaino system at home. Plan on Zaino'ing my car later this week when the weather gets better. I know for sure that the Zaino Z5 polish wont remove this scratch, it barely removes swirls. Is there any thing else I can get to remove this or make it blend it better at least without using anything too abrasive. I dont have any kind of machine polisher, so everything I do will be by hand.

Do you guys think, after I clay my car, I should use some Mequires Scratch X and then Zaino it? Will that work?

Wow, that look a little complicated. I dont really trust myself to do that. I think I am going to mess up my paint even more.

Is there any kind of compound I can buy that I just dab a little at the scratch and wipe away? I just want it to cover up the scratch, so you cant see the "whiteness" of it.

Thanks guys.

I would start with Poorboy's SSR2. If that does not work than SSR3. Follow up with SSR1, Polish and EX. You should be happy then.

Thats a lot of money. I dont want to buy three things just to remove a couple scratches. Which SSR should I get?

1,2 or 3? I dont want anything that will hurt my paint or create more swirls. Will SSR cover up the white?

Thanks

Anybody have any other suggestions on compounds?

Well, you are removing scratches on a brand new $35,000 car, a few bottles of swirl remover isn't gonna kill ya ;)

Basically with that you're always going to be able to see it, but I'm pretty confident you can knock the edges off of it so that it wont be nearly as visible. Never used the Poorboys swirl removers but I'm sure they're excellent just like all of Steve's products, I would try some Scratch X or #9 by hand with a terry cloth if thats more accessable..

Issue is you want a product that will do the job but not leave you with surface marring afterwards. By hand thats gonna be hard. Since you're using zaino you'll want to re-layer the area afterwards...

I assume that the scratch is deep enough to catch your fingernail.

If so, the paint is gone.

No polish is going to bring it back.

In my area, a professional touchup would be $60-80.

You might accomplish the same results, for about $25 yourself. Maybe.
