My girlfriend asked me to clean her carpet in her pt cruiser (grey) this weekend and wanted me to get rid of some type of red stain, probably Kool aid or strawberry soda that had been baking in the car all summer. She didn't tell me earlier because she knew I would get pissed. Well now I am even more pissed. Anyways, I tried prestone foam cleaner, meguiars APC 4:1 with hot water, and folex. Nothing made a dent in the stains. My question is what next? Anything?

Try 303 Rug/Upholstery Cleaner & Spot Remover. I have never had a carpet stain this did not remove. Works great.

Non-chlorinated brake parts cleaner. Don't get it on plastic, and you will have to shampoo after to get rid of the smell.

As always, test first to make sure it won't discolor it.

I tried "Oxyclean" on my light gray mats.....removed coffee stain and smells good....

Hey!

If Folex does not touch it, you got a real problem. The only other product that I know of that may help, is a product made by General Motors called "Fabric Cleaner". It comes in a can (liquid), and is VERY strong. You would be advised to read the directions carefully and blot the spot from the outside in towards its middle. Keep the windows open for ventilation.

I used to use the GM stuff for years, ( I would buy it in large containers as it works really well on oil stains etc...).

BUT, I would try the Folex again, but this time leave it on the spot for 20-30 minutes. You may want to do a test spot first just in case.

If neither of the above do it, seek out a professional carpet cleaner with a hand attachment. My brother owns a carpet cleaning company and has access to powerful carpet cleaning chemicals the public does not. It will cost you some money to have done, but that will be the last chance. If that does not do it----sorry bud!

If all else fails you may have to get the spot dyed. Red kool ade is impossible. Check with a new car dealer that sells a lot of used cars. When they recondition used cars and stains wont come out they just dye them. See the man who in charge of used car reconditioning and ask him what company he uses . In the Chicago area they use a company called Creative Colors.
