I'll go first. Here's the method I use:
You need:
32oz high volume sprayer
Jug of QEW
small bucket
large bucket or leak-proof bag
microfiber cloths
drying towel
Start from the top of the car, and work down, by sections.
Spray the section with the sprayer, filled with plain water
Fill the small bucket with QEW and soak a MF towel in it until it is dripping.
Fold MF into quarters, and gently wipe the dirt off the section
Flip to a clean section, and scrub as much or as little as you like
Dry the section with the (WW) drying towel. Don't worry if you leave streaks or do an incomplete job.
Mist the section again with water, QD, or Eagle One WAUD. Wipe off with a dry or nearly dry MF towel (not the drying towel)
Move on to the next section. Move on to new towels as they get dirty and toss the old ones in the large bucket or bag. Do the wheels last.
Advantages:
Uses only about 1/2 gallon QEW
You always touch the car with a clean towel.
Other tips:
The Q in QEW means get it off the car quickly. It seems to etch waterspots in the wax. Even a scrubbing followup with #34 Final Inspection won't get these spots out.
I modified my technique based on two things: One is that WW MF's don't do that great of a job drying, especially once they start to get damp. The second is that QEW seems to etch waterspots or streaks, hence the final spray-down with another fluid to get off the last remaining bits of QEW.
