Sunday Detail v. G 35

This car belongs to the sister of a friend. My buddy and I detailed it even though it was raining, and was going to rain for the next 2 days. This detail is a long time in the works, probably over a year. That's why it got done now, no matter what the weather was going to be.

Slightly disappointed, the paint seemed hard. I detailed my sentra and had no problem removing siwrls, and i detailed an I 35 and it was black just like the G 35 and that paint came out better. Eh, need to find a new carpet cleaner / spot treatment as well.

Something ( pop or coffee ) was spilled and I could not get it out, totally. So,

I'll post up the pictures and allow for comments and suggestions,

maybe since all my other details seem to come out better, it is not a good idea to detail when it rains :nixweiss :(

Exterior:

Wash - Meg's GC Shampoo

Clay - Meg's Clay

Polish - IP via PC on a yellow pad ( might be losing its cutting ability ? )

Interior:

Vacuum

Spot treatment with simple green, and LGCM with Bissell carpet solution.

Woolite for leather and trim, leather conditioned with Blue Magic and trim / dash

dressed with Meg's Trim and Dash Foam

This last picture is of my sentra.

washed / clayed / liquid # 26 about 1 1/2 months ago.

washed / OCW about 3-4 weeks ago,

washed on thursday night, so this is how OCW is holding up.

After this past thursdays wash, the paint was still smooth with some slickness.

But when it rains it beads nicely, and while driving, the beads just fly right off.

OCW is a good choice for daily drivers that sit outside if you ask me :spot

Major improvement on that G35! :up

That carpet color is really tough and I also find it difficult to clean really deep stains out of it. Same color in a BMW is noticably easier to clean for some reason-probably thicker carpeting doesn't allow stains to get as deep as they do in Infinitis. :niweiss

Too bad about the rain, really messes up the before and afters, eh?

thanks guys,

scott,

the rain really sucks man, couldnt even pull it out and take some pics in "natural" light due to it pouring,

didnt want it to be wet for the customer :o

Many people complain about how finicky the G35 paint can be at correcting. With that said the improvements you made were excellent. I'm sure the owner was gleaming!

Looks good. On that one shot fo the trunk in the afters, still some heavy swirling left. COuldnt take any of that out ?

i would have to say about 50 % of the swirls were removed.

that might even be generous.

the owner says she takes the car to be hand washed, but her brother, my friend, may have used the auto-wash rack at a previous dealer we worked at. harsh brushes with alot of pressure are not good.

it would need another 1-2 sessions of deep polishing with a PC.
