Well Im getting a little better. As your can see I did some of the hood. Here is what a did.

Washed the car and then clayed the hood. Then used SFX-1>2>3. I went nice a slow and tried to use only a very little product. As you can see there is inprovement but its not perfect. Is that just about all the better that its going to get? I know Im fighting an up hill battle...black car, the hood and 70k of no protection. Should I be spending more time with SFX-1 to get out those deep marks? Am I being too picky?

Two random question. Some times I get the polish dried and hardened. Yes I know most likely using to much but how should I get it off? Seem really hard to just rub off. Little QD take to take it off? Second see that crease in the hood its about a centimeter high. How did I get it? By hand? Thanks a lot guys.

Yep, getting a car completely swirl-free is a real toughie. Another pass with SFX-1 should do it, if not you'll need to step up to a more aggressive compound. I just got done polishing out my own personal black car, and I ended up choosing to polish it out to 90% and glaze the rest, rather than polish it out to 100%. I find that this saves a lot of clearcoat and sanity in the long run, without any negative effects.

You should be able to buff the raised line with a PC, burning the high spots isnt an issue like it is with a rotary. For polish smears, you can either add a little more polish and buff them off, or just QD them off. If theyre really, really bad and nothing you do seems to budge them, a little clay and lube will take them off easily.
