RX8 wearing Victoria Concours Red Wax...Wow

Gen2

New member
This RX8 was detailed quite sometime back when it was still new and the paint condition was still pretty good to start with. So the steps taken were quite simple but I tried something new on this car, I finished it with the Victoria Concours Red Wax.

1. wash and clay

2. PO106FF/RMG mix + polishing pad + DA @ speed 5

3. VM/RMG mix + finishing pad + DA @ speed 4

4. Victoria Concours Red Wax with foam applicator pad by hand

This is one of the first few cars that I tried using the Concours Red Wax (CRW) and after I finished buffing off the residue of the CRW, I was so impressed by the depth, wetness and the carnauba glow it produced. Before this I have tried and owned many paste wax, namely the Pinnacle Souveran, Zymol Titanium, Collinite #885, Meguiar #16, PB Natty Blue, Pink Wax, S100 and a few others but IMO the CRW gives the best depth.

Seeing is believing, so I shall not go on saying how amazing the depth of CRW is. See for yourself and you be the judge.

What do you guys think? Comments and questions are welcome.

Wow, very nice.

A couple of questions.

1) Any reason why you didn't use the Lite Cleanse?

2) Do you prefer the applicator to hand application?

Love your work as always Gen2! The RX8 looks fantastic, very wet and reflective. For the members that asked it's from Victoria Wax dot com in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. You can order direct from David on his website and the prices vary with the size of jar and type of wax purchased. Hopes this helps your questions.

I have been using Victory Wax Concourse for a few months now and it still impresses me to the quality and depth of shine. I will be doing about the same thing you have done with the PO106FF and POR85RD and possibly RMG at least a test area. I have several coats of VW on top of Trade Secrets on my red street rod and the shine, wetness, and depth is fantastic. I to have used PS, NB, PS21, s100, ts, and few others and VW is one of the best. I apply it by hand and use the Wipe on Wipe off without letting it haze, probably on the surface for more than a minute or two. VW is made for the person that likes to detail and is willing to spend the time and sweat to achieve a fantastic finish. Now if you the type to use one of the new WOWA and like to compete the job in 9 minutes or less and have it last 6 to 9 months then this product is probably not for you. I have no idea of the durability since I enjoy putting a fresh coat on and I only use it on my show cars but I would suspect the durability isn’t any better than the average wax maybe could be less since there seems to more oils then most waxes. I tried the Lite Cleanse and would rather use RMG or Polyseal and nothing after polishing – not bad but nothing out standing. The VW quick is OK but doesn’t seem to add much to the finish again ok but nothing really outstanding but I do like the fine mist bottle it comes in. Auto Soap is really nice and above average but on the expensive side for daily use.

Oh yes your car look fantastic:up

WOW, holy crap!! That is quite possibly one of the best looking black cars ive seen in a really long time!

Great work!:bow

That is a very nice detail! That camera you use is beyond excellent at capturing full depth and gloss. I would pick one up but they are close to $2000. I do not take that many pics for that price range. You have to be a real pro to use one of those cams too.

What settings do you use? I am trying to learn how to take good shots and show the true clarity of my work. You definatly know what you are doing! Teach me some photo skills.

Wow thats some of the best looking black I have seen. I think the Pink Moose definitely helped with the depth a lot. Great job.
