QEW Question

I am just looking for some reassurance on the usage of QEW. I can not admit that I like the idea of "waterless washing" being that it seems like you are going to be dragging dirt across your paint. However, with the temperature in the single digits all this week and next I really dont want to be outside washing like usual, I didnt book today or tomorrow because of the weather. Also washing like normal has caused my driveway to look like I am trying to host the Olympic luge trials; my father could not make it up the driveway last night due to the ice. I am just wondering of someone could elaborate on their technique of using QEW to take place of washing so I could go right to clay afterwards, all while in the warm garage. I am just looking to provide a means to stay busy with the cold weather until the semester starts in two weeks, then its weekends only.

QEW does require water. It's a rinseless wash. Have it mixed in a bucket with water and have another bucket with plain water for cleaning your mitt(s). I'd highly recommend multiple mitts with QEW to reduce the chance of marring. The more the merrier. Change your bucket of water often too. Wash a panel at a time and immediately dry it.The more ww towels the better as well.

I start from the top of the car to the bottom. I often just save the entire bottom for last but there are many other strategies.

It takes some practice but when you get the hang of it you can wash in the garage/driveway without fear of creating more skating rinks ;)

Hope This Helps

Thanks Bill, I appreciate the info. I currently have 2 microfiber and 3 wool mitts so that should be more than sufficient. I like the idea of washing and drying the body panels individually, never would have thought to do that. Thanks again.

I delayed trying QEW for months because I had similar fears. I used it over the weekend on my car and while it didn't look dirty, the rinse bucket said otherwise. Nice product, and definitely a must have for cold weather. It feels a bit different than other washes in my opinion, as it seems to cling to the paint more (maybe why it works without scratching). I used three or four drying towels, one or two waffle weaves and two high pile microfibers (used a high pile first, then followed with a WW).

ProtectAll doubled my order for some reason so I have enough QEW to last a couple of years probably. Good thing I like it. :)

That stuff is friggin amazing huh? I mean, I had some reservations at first, but not any more. Just got to make sure to change your water often if real dirty. Follow up with some S&W or a QD and you have an amazing looking car in the dead of winter! I love the look on peoples faces when I drive into work with a sparkling clean car in the winter. They just can't figure it out.
