i was asking one of my fellow zainoholics about polishing with a buffer and he said that i would prolly go right through the clear.

what are the chances of this happening?

i wont do it before i'm ready to do it. and before doing stuff of this nature i generally research everything. it took me a year to finally decide to buy zaino.

think i'm safe?

Are you talking about a rotary like the Makita or dual action like the PC?

You're only at risk of burning through your clearcoat if you're an inexperienced user of a rotary buffer. If you're gonna be using the PC, then it's very difficult to do any such damage to your clearcoat.

That's why many people go down the PC route. It's very safe even in the most inexperienced hands, due to the fact that it doesn't generate the heat that a rotary buffer does.

Hope this puts your mind at rest!

Practice. That's the ticket.

Get a discarded hood, or other panel from the salvage yar or body shop.

Read some more. Practice.
