Oxidized versus new finish

Just wondering why a heavily oxidized car or truck, black for these purposes, seems to unleash hell on a detailers confidence. I am talking about streaking and uneven product applications. What are the factors that cause sealers, waxes, glazes etc... to cake up, streak, and leave residue behind. One thing is for sure, every car is different and I'd like to see the knowledge you autopians may have about the cars, product selection, and the factors that lead to messy finishes.

Not really sure what you are asking.

Black finishes show everything so they have to be perfect.

I'm not sure what oxidation has to do with it unless the oxidation is really deep in the paint. Most oxidations if it is light can be removed with a polish. If it is heavy, then it can be removed with a compound.
