New Tires

I just got new tires put on and on the tire wall there is a yellow circle dot and a white circle dot, probably stamped since new tires. How do I remove that safely? It seems like its on there good. Its not a sticker. Rubbing alcohol? This is a silly question, but if im driving at high speeds do my tires look like a yellowish, white color on tire wall?

I've also had those marks. I just took a "kitchen sponge" like this:

and rubbed the mark with that harder green sponge side, using car shampoo when washing the car. I removed them quite easily, you just need to rub it.

aww ok i got actually just the green sheets. do you think i can use the green side on stock oem wheels in the corner of the spokes or will that ruin rims? I got baked on brake dust in the corners and tried megs wheel cleaner.

Those painted dots mean something for mounting the tires. If memory serves, yellow shows the light spot so that is usually mounted above the valve core.

Most anything that removes tar and bug splatter will remove the dots: mineral spirits, WD40, PrepSol, turpentine, Goo-Gone, abrasion.

I just had new Falken FK452s mounted and used a bit of Prepsol and an old terry towel.

After a thorough cleaning with Hi-Temp tire cleaner and dressing, they look great, sans yellow dot.

Here's a link for a ton of really interesting tire info, including the dots:

If you're talking about that same green side like in my photo, I wouldn't use it on wheels, it's very abrasive, it will definitely scratch the paint.

The thread is about tires, not wheels.

Blownvert asked, Domas answered. Reading skills for the win.
