Hello,

I'm new to this board and would really appreciate some help.

I have an 87 Buick Grand National with original paint. It is in beautiful shape.

I used Zaino on the car, but it has me a little dissapointed. More to the point, I see some swirls/light scratches in the C-pillar, which I did not notice when I bought the car.

The previous owner used Zymol.

My real question here is, what product would you strongly reccomend for hiding minor imprefections on Black paint, which will also provide a deep shine that will make me proud on cruise night .

Is Zaino as good as it gets? Or is there something better for my particular situation.

I should ad that at this point I have 3 coats of Zaino Z5 for swirls and only 1 coat of Z2 or 3 - I foret which.

Welcome granntl :) As a fellow Black Car owner I would recommend that you sit back and start reading !!! Click the learn button up top, there is a wealth of info for you. I personaly would never want to "hide" any imperfections, I want them GONE !! Are you doing the detailing by hand or do you have a PC ?? Lots of questions to ask and im sure you will get a ton of answers here too. Good luck and happy detailing !!

I am doing this by hand. I've been reading, but man am I overwhelmed!!

Sounds like I need to go back and polish the swirls/scratches out.

Now I just need to figure out which product to use.

I was(and still am) overwhelmed:scared .. I personally do not know what to use by hand. When I found this site, the first thing I did was buy a PC...Its foolproof :xyxthumbs !! The polishes I have bought are 1Z Metallic Polish, 1Z Paint polish, Poorboys SSR2.5, Menzerna IP, 3M Perfect it III Machine Glaze and Meg's # 80 !! And thats only the polishes !!! With the PC ive done my best work with the 3M P-III MG and the Meg's # 80.. My Black Camaro SS has never looked better. So after 7 months of family cars, I have ventured off and now as a side job I detail about 1 to 2 cars a weekend on the side purely out of the enjoyment. Call me nuts:nixweiss .. The money I make feeds my new found frenzy and I can h9onestly say Im not in the red anymore. Its freakin therapy for me..... Anyway, If you would like to try any samples, feel free to ask !!
