okay here's my situation, i have a 99 gs300 that was just repainted the original color with clearcoat b/c the original paint had some deep etchings and was single stage paint. well long story short, i''m guessing during the final stage they buffed the paint using poor technique b/c there is very minimal micromarring.



what would be the best polish by hand to remove this marring since i don't own a pc? the paint is extremely deep but just at the right angle you can see marring and i wanted to rid the paint of the issue so the black can shine the way i want it to.
 
Since it was just painted I would say that something not very aggresive would be the key. As far as a polish goes 1zmp or VM I would think would be gentle enough but capable of doing the job. As far as a good applicator goes us mf if that does not have enough bite ive been told that a terry cloth will work but I have never done this my self. Just make sure you apply a good wax, such as poorboys EX or 1zgw.
 
It all depends on how bad the marring is. You could start out with something very mild like the 1Z MP or something a bit more aggressive like 3M PI III MG (machine glaze). Doing it by hand, if you use the MG, you'll need to work it well so you break down the abrasives.



If this was just repainted you should ask the body shop how long you should wait before you can apply a wax (usually 30 - 90 days). Until then for protection you can use a product like 3M PI III Finishing Glaze that will provide short term protection while letting the paint cure.

I go with Meguairs #80. It should take out any light marring, it finishes with a very wet appearance and leaves a light, new paint safe protective finish.
