ok. im new to the whole polishing thing other than AIO (which doesnt seem to do much polish by hand on swirly dark green MPV). i wont be getting a PC till summer so everything is going to be done by hand with a foam applicator and MF towels. i need a good polisher that can be applied and buffed of by hand with a MF towel. i only need a polish that removes swirls and minor scratch on the MPV and minor scratches on the QX4.

thanks

I just used SSR2.5 by hand on a blue grille piece off of a 91 Escort (friend gets in accident, we rip off front piece for souvenir). It worked surprisingly well by hand to remove the swirls caused by many automatic car washes and years of neglect.

Be aware though...your arms are going to be tired when you polish a minivan by hand!

bah..ive been through worst. turtle wax wouldnt come off the roof cause of major contamination on the roof. that was before i discovered the wodners of autopia and clay. whats SSR2.5?

another qx4- The easiest stuff I've ever used by hand is 1Z. Their PP, perhaps followed by their MP will work well by hand.

On *our* MPV I use 3M Pi-III RC (05933) and then MG (05937) which also work OK by hand. Not quite as easy as the 1Z stuff, but not bad at all.

FWIW, AIO + SG x 6 lasts us well over a year on that Mazda.

I did not like their MP by hand at all. It left alot of scratches/marring. PP worked well though, you would think it would have been the opposite. :nixweiss 3M ssr 39009 works well by hand to.

i think ill just get PP since im still a noob on polishing (acually the whoel detailing thing still...), also i want to ask something. my 01 infiniti's rear windshield (the outside) has been scratched pretty deep with the wiper blade. it mustve been the previous owner which hasnt really taken care of the car at all. what can i do other than replacing the whole wind shield?

Yeah, that's really funny. I've never had *any* marring (micro or othewise) from MP, by hand or machine. I sorta wonder if something out of the ordinary happened :nixweiss

Unless I'm misunderstanding and you meant the MP didn't remove marring that was already there. In that case, yeah, the PP is more appropriate.
