My New Z-8 Process...

I have started to use two microfiber towels for Z-8 application. I start with a PakShak work towel and set the sprayer on as fine a mist as possible and wipe thinly over the panels. I then finish up quickly with a PakShak UltraPlush towel to make sure the panel is dry.

I started doing this since I was worried about the UltraPlush absorbing too much Z-8 on application and the work towel is a smoother nap...I will be receiving some UltraSmooth towels from Pak in a few days and that may be the best QD towel for Z-8 yet.

What do you use?

Here are some pics where I tried to capture the slickness post-Z8:

I have a whole bunch of Adam MF towels(16x24) that I use a lot. Found the same towel only smaller(16X16) at Excel Detail from Patrick. These are my favorite towels for doing anything on the truck's painted surface.

I do the same thing as you do. Except when the second towel begins to appear damp I change the drying towel. I normally use three drying towels to do my truck. It saves time folding the towels to the dry area. I like it when the first towel is wet when applying Z8 as I go around to different panels. Of course I use a different part of the wipedown towel for each section. I can use less Z8 to complete the wipedown.

Lee, GSRstilez visited a few weeks ago and showed me how to apply Z5 and Z8. I had less than a cap full of Z5 and he applied it to a TL (paint, windows, trim, exhaust, and rims -i.e. everything). He hit Liz's Nissan Truck with Z8 from top to bottom and didn't use an ounce of product. The key to Z8 -get a decent spray head that lays a uniform mist, spread it quickly, then gently wipe to a finished/clear look. A little goes A LONG WAY!

The first few times that I used Z8, my MF was damp when I was done -and I now know that I was using WAYYYYYY tooo much product. A bottle of Z8 should last 30+ times on an average size car -easy.
