Mobil Detailing Trailer

Hello Everyone,

Well, I have been very busy setting up my detailing trailer and here are some pics of the finished product. I started with a generic trailer for $800. Then added a 3500 psi pressure washer for $1000, a 5500 watt generator for $500 (discounted since it was a floor model and saved me $600) and a 220 gallon water tank for $300. I then welded two plates 12" by 10' for advertising on the sides. I then purchased some diamond plate and a tool box at a cost of $500. I figure presentation is everything. The pressure washer will work off the tank or a garden hose. I went to macco for the paint job and had it painted the same color as my truck for $225. Hopefully this will help in some questions that have been raised for building a trailer. I could have done it a lot cheaper, but presentation does help in selling.

Looks very nice but I would try get some type of cover for your trailer. Would not like see all you stuff get rain on or rip off.

I agree, but the price to put a top on will have to wait. Everything is bolted and the nuts are tap welded. I have a lock so when the trailer is hooked to the truck, it can not be disconnected. I also have two locks for wheels and hitch to prevent theft when it is disconnected from the truck. Hopefully this will help a little.

Nice set up! You do very good work. If your detailing skills match your trailer building skills, you should be in business a long time!

Thanks Scott, that means a lot coming from you! Also you mentioned in one of your posts that you were looking at getting a polisher. You are more than welcome to borrow mine since I only use it on real bad vehicles. I am hand man myself.

Looks good. I'll be purchasing a trailer pretty soon also. I just need to get around to going out and buying it.

Nice to see yet another detailer on this board who uses an F-150 as their detail truck :D

Uh, I am not quite sure how to take that! :p

Thanks for the offer to use the polisher, but it would be kind of awkward passing one back and forth. Same deal as you though-I really only need one for cars with deep scratches. Maybe use it a few times a month.

Very nice setup, it appears you are going to be offering more than detailing services. How did you determine what size trailer to get or

was it the price based?

Very nice set up! I switched over from the back of my truck to a fully mobile enclosed trailer this year and I love it. Makes things so much easier. My customers love the trailer. I was detailing a car at a Marriot Hotel this past weekend and I had s few people come up to me commenting about my set up. They were amazed that I was fully mobile.

As for the size of trailer, I looked around at other trailers on the internet and most were 5' X 8'. When we looked at trailers there was a $50 difference between that size and 6' X 10'. My wife mentioned I could use the room for storage which worked out real well.

I have already had numerous comments on the trailer. Everyone likes that I am very mobil and carry all my equipment. Since mainly detail cars it is very nice. I also offer pressurewashing of decks, patios, and pools since I have a real nice pressurewasher. Hopefully this will help during the winter season.
