Microfiber Purchase

Hi all. Wanted to start by saying thanks for such a great forum. I have lurked for a while and finally have begun to purchase some products.



I just purchased the following Microfiber from PakShak



MICROPAK 25" x 36" Waffle Slightly Irregular x2 (use for drying)

MICROPAK 16" x 16" Ultra 5 Pack (use for wax and polish residue removal)

MICROPAK 16" x 16" UltraPlush 2 pack (use for quick detail and final buff)



Do you guys think this is enough microfiber to get me started? I have a few cheap microfibers that I picked up from the local auto parts store. I plan to use the cheap microfiber for interior, wheel cleaning and exterior trim. I know you can never have enough MF but I am trying to keep the strain on the wallet to a minumum as I still need to get a PC and pad kit. I already purchased a large amount of Poorboy's products so I think I am good on the product front for now. Thanks in advance for any input and sorry for the long post.
 
Yes, that's an excellent start.



I would suggest you go to your local Costco, WalMart or Target and purchase a couple packs of cheap micrtofiber. Relegate those to dirty parts of the car like door jambs, wheels, bumpers, etc... Also relegate some of them to interior work like wiping off dressings or leather products.



The high quality Pak Shaks will be just for paint and glass ensuring long use while maintaining the towels' integrity.



As your budgets permits, keep your eyes out for sales online for quality towels sold at the various vendors. Purchase them if you can. If you do this, you'll slowly build your collection with high quality towels that you will have purchased at reduced prices.
 
I would use the Ultra's for interior/glass work. Ultra Smooths for wax removal, but that's jus me.

Really? Pakshak's site says they are good for wax and polish residue removal. I really hope they will work for this purpose. Can anyone confirm the ultras will work for wax/polish removal without marring/swirling the paint? I really dont have the funds to order more towles from Pakshak at the moment.



On another note I have already purchased cheap MF from my local autoparts store to use on interior work and tires/exterior trim. Thanks for the responses so far everyone.
 
Stick with the PakShaks for paint given that you have so few to start. But they're fine for glass.



At Target, they sell Vroom glass towels that are nice. Same applies to the Meguiar's towels you can buy at any local Pep Boys. Just give them a wash before first use.
 
Like Seth, I can recommend the $2 per towel grey Vrooms. Decently soft for the money. Don't forget to remove the tags! :)
