Menzerna PO106FF vs PO106FA opinions . . .

I managed to purchase a bottle of 106FA and try it out side by side on some hard Audi paint. Visually, both the 106FF and FA appear identical except the FF seemed a bit more viscous. Using both polishes on the metabo with a white LC CCS pad, the FA provided a longer working time than FF and the dusting was reduced. The working time was very close to PO85RD and ultimately resulted in a finish that didn't seemed to be improved upon by a subsequent polishing by 85RD. Initial cut with FA might have been slightly less than FF, but the finish ended up being slightly better, probably due to the longer working time.

In conclusion, FF and FA are quite similar, except FA seems to contain more lubricants which allow the polish to be worked longer for a more complete breakdown of the polish.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. The FA just seems to have just a bit more "friendliness" to it. Also, Phil IMHO goes out of his way to stay on top of the latest product updates and to make sure he has them available for his customers.

Thanks for the info, I don't have FA as of yet and while working on this thing, I followed 106FF with 85RD FP and noticed that it got out the last remaining scratches that 106 did not

FF was fine to work with yesterday, despite the heat of the day in the high 90F's

FA and Blackfire is not the same version. FA is an upgraded version of FF. It was first used by Chrysler Benz. The main goal was to get less dust during polishing.

Maybe Jeff Silver told something else but this was what Menzerna Germany told me.

Jeff did not get into the specifics of why FA came about but did say that the difference was a very slight tweak to the recipe to fit the request of a customer OEM.. he did say that the differences in final output would be very hard / near impossible to decern
