man made suede ?

i'm looking for a solution that will preserve man made suede.



on what you ask ?



BMW M3 series steering wheels have this .. bmw canada / usa don't have a fix for the pitting or wear rate and are replacing steering wheels i'm told..





suggestions ?

ijoy massage chairs are made of man-made suede.. their care insrtuctions are as follows.



do not use benzene, thinner or any other solvents



remove dust with vaccum, if it becomes soiled wipe with damp cloth, then dry cloth.



common velour cleaners may be used for stubborn stains.



i'd of course test small areas first.

I've had the same problem with an old car I had. The solution was to take off the steering wheel (ok - possibly difficult on a BMW) and hold it over a boiling kettle. The steam softens the material and can be brush back into shape.

I guess holding a vaccuum with a steamer should suffice

My guess is that the material is alcantara. Mt '03 Cobra seats have it.
