Malms products

Has anyone used Malms products? Just curious about the results. I just ordered a new Imola red BMW and want to get my detailing products ready.

I saw the Malms wax on the guru reports. It did not perform well. With the proper paint prep, anything will look good, but protection and upkeep can be a breeze if you use a polymer sealant or wax often.

Sorry, I tried the search and got next to nothing on Malms. Anyone have experience with the products??

Thanks

:wavey The web site for Malm's is www.malm's.com.

I've used both the glaze and the wax. You should use a PC to apply and remove as the product is stiff, but results are good, with a little elbow grease it works fine.

I used Malms wax for years and had pretty good results. It's easy to apply and remove. But in my opinion there are much better products on the market that have better shine, depth and that last much longer. The main reason I quit using Malms was that it wouldn't last long enough. Since then I've used Blitz, Griots Best of Show, Zaino and lastly Collinite. All of the above are much better performers overall than Malms. Keep reading these boards and you will find reviews of many waxes by people that know their stuff you will find one that suits you fine; and it may be Malms. Good luck!

bimmer330- I'm surprised the search didn't work, we have gone over Malm's stuff before. Anyhow, I used to use it. Bought both the polish and wax in GALLONS, so I feel qualified to comment. Their ads make it sound like just the product line for Autopians, but the proof is in the using. Note that I find most products, including Klasse SG, quite easy to use. Sorry, but I forget the actual product names..hope my descriptions are adequate.

Green polish- OK general purpose abrasive, I still keep some around but doubt I'll buy more. Water soluble. Harder to use than products from Megs and 3M. Many people I've lent it to found it virtually IMPOSSIBLE to use/remove and got VERY frustrated with it. Stronger than you oughta need on a new car.

Pink glaze- Also quite tough to use for most people. Milder than the polish, a better choice for an already virtually perfect finish, but QUITE inferior to VM (for instance, similar product) in virtually every respect.

Wax- Sorta a "soft wax". Easy enough on/off if used after proper prep. OK look, nothing special. Attracts insects. Doesn't last TOO long, but not bad for a liquid. Seems to "layer" or at least "build up", sometimes unpleasantly. Does NOT stain trim (in my experience). I honestly can't imagine using it with products like Collinite, P21S, Blitz, Pinnacle, 3M, etc. on the market.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but I thought I'd do that rather than start a new one.

Has ANYONE bought the $100.00 (soon to be $125) "Extreme" paste wax from Malm's? I seem to recall reading about it about 5 years ago, and the write up on the web site seems to be about the same as it was back then - new, hand made, individual orders, soon to raise the price, etc.

Just wondering.:nixweiss
