Making the jump to a Rotary

Well I think I going to make the jump to a Rotary. It's going to be a Makita or Hitachi. I'm waiting to here from Utterguy's if they will ship to Canada and if I have to pay duty on it. If it's made in North America there's no duty I here?? They have the Hitachi for $119 so around $134 CAD. I'll probably end up getting the Makita here for $252 CAD including all taxes,we have 14% tax here  . Anyway when I get the Rotary I will post my practice work, I won't be doing customers car with the Rotary untill I've had some time with it. Comments and advice welcome.

No duty if it's made in NA, however you will pay tax and a handling fee. My only other comment is enjoy it; rotaries are sometimes made to seem more scary then they arctually are, given your previous work I know you'll pick it up fast. Once you start rocking cars with it you'll wonder how you lived without it! :)

Hey Picus, what Rotary do you use and where did you get it?

Heya - I have the Makita 9227; I got it before I moved so that's no good to you. :(

I'm not sure where you can find them in Canada for a reasonable price. It might be worth drop shipping to the US or something if possible.

I get 25% off at Lordco so it's $252 with tax included. Thats a fair price I think.

I got the Hitachi a few months ago. This is my first rotary and it performs very well and it's pretty light. It didn't take too long to learn to use it. I agree with Picus - it wan't scary to use once I started with it. I just kept the rpm's below about 1100 and had no problems at all.
