I've got a brand new meg's 5" rotary backing plate. Even though it has the little centering nub, you can pull it out with pliers, and then you have a centering hole like most other backing plates.

I forgot to ask - is it flexible?

Kind of. It's not flexible like a lake country backing plate, but it has a hard plastic material, with a soft spongy flexible interface. I don't think anyone makes a fully flexible backing plate for a rotary in 5" though.
