Lincoln Town Car Convertible!

I hope these photos make up the for the ones I accidently deleted last weekend of my detail of a SL 55 AMG :wall:

This is custom ’77 Lincoln Town Car convertible :D A car like this had its roof chopped in the aftermarket . I was stunned to see this car ton the road . I tracked it down later in the day at a service station and spoke to the mechanics who had it parked outside.

This car only has 9500 miles on it! It is in extremely good shape! In the bright sulight swirls marks could probably counted on one hand, the interior is spotless. The leather is in incredibly good shape with minimum wrinkling. The engine compartment needs to be detailed and the tires need dressing but other than that this car is terrific!

The car was being seviced for broken vacuum operated headlight doors. A problem I suspect is typical of older vehicles with this feature. The mechanic who was driving it when I saw it remarked how increbily smooth it drives! He started it up and even for a Lincoln of this vintage, it started with the same famous whisper of modern Town Cars. You have to second guess whether the car is running or not:D

I’d love to get a chance to detail such a special car as this. Immediately as I looked it over I took mental notes of what I think it could use , and it’s not much:

Good wash and clay

A brief polishing using the PC with something light like Menzerna FP via white Lake Country polishing pad.

LSP product(s) of choice

I think the leather might respond even better to the Leatherique twins, definitely worth a shot

Of course, clean/dress the interior, make sure carpet is spotless

Dress wheel wells/ tires with dressings of choice.

Big job, but labor of love: seal these intricate wheels

Of course, polish the exhaust :D

The biggest job would be the engine compartment:

A careful degreasing, polishing all metal portions ,probably a lot of painting ( maybe the POR 15 paints?)and rust treating and plastic and rubber dressing is needed.
