I'm going to use my PC on my black vette tomorrow for the first time....

So i got my PC yesterday and i'm going break it out tomorrow.

My black vette is about a year and a half old. i'd say the paint is in pretty good shape considering the time i've had it. The paint looks pretty clean, but under light there are many very light surface scratches. they are faint for the most part, but definitely visible under light.

I have in my possession a new PC 7424xp

Poorboys SSR1 and SSR2.5

LC CCS pads orange, white, and grey.

After stripping the wax and claying i was thinking about starting with the white pad and SSR1. I'm thinking that might do the job as there isn't much correction needed.

Do you think this is a good place to start? or should i try the SSR1 with the orange pad? I personally don't think the SSR2.5 is needed in this case but then again, i am no expert.

What do you guys think?

Alway's start with the least aggressive. So your first choice is the correct one. Just do a test section and see if you will need the SSR2.5. If you don't get it out in 2 passes move up to 2.5.

Rez90- With a few exceptions (actually M205 is the only one I can think of), I would *NOT* use a very gentle product on an orange pad. I'm more in favor of using the most gentle pad that'll get the job done and using a more aggressive product if needed...just seems to make for a better match.

So if the SSR1/white doesn't do it, I'd move to the SSR 2.5 instead of switching to the SSR1/orange pad (note I've never used either product).
