okay

i just bought 3m swirl remover for black cars (and my car is black).

and i need to know how to properly apply it.

i tried and it just gets really gun

ckie, and messes the paint up and its hard to remove?

what am i doing wrong

..............

i cleaned off the gunckie mess i made, then applied hard carnuaba wax, and that ended up removing 85% of the swirls

...............

but the 3m is supposedly good stuff right?

help me

thanks

the 3m contains MILD abrasives and more hides the swirls rather than get rid of them. I have applied it by hand working it in different directions and then wiping it off, it workd *OK* IMHO, but not great.

I've used the SR byb hand and gotten good results with it. The amount used and the amount of time you spend rubbing it in seem to be the key. The SR should almost disappear before you buff it out.

You might try using less and/or rubbing it in more throroughly and see if that helps.

Try practicing on a small area until you get the results you want and then do the rest of the car.
