how do you clean buffing pads

I'll just run them under water and then ring them out and let them air dry, if I used a wax or sealant I'll use a little AP, then run them under water.

I spray them (saturated) with "Purple Power" (APC). Let them soak for about 5 minutes, then wash by hand with Dawn in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly, air dry.

They come out like new.....;):D

we use some APC and the Pad Washer :bigups
cleans them in a couple minutes each :inspector:

I've tried several, each product seems to work and can't say that I have a definitive favorite.

APC -diluted
Dishwashing detergent
Murphy's Oil Soap
DP Pad Rejuvinator

Whatever you choose to use, just be sure to rinse well.

I soak mine in Oxyclean then throw them in the washer. None have come apart yet and I've been doing it a number of years, still using the same pads.
They come out much cleaner than I could get them washing by hand.

Hot water?

Meguiar's pads?

I have read that machine washing the original Meg's pads, (Prior to the 2.0 version), was hard on the Velcro adhesive.
It seems like the hot water would do the best job, but would also be harder on the Velcro adhesive

I usually squeeze the crud out in hot water & Dawn and then soak them for a while. That usually gets the polishes and waxes out, but I'm still having trouble with getting sealants out. I would welcome any suggestions for that.

Try the Dawn Power Dissolver. I have yet to find something that it wouldn't get out of pads and applicators. Wear some gloves though, because it will dry your hands out big time.

how do you all clean your buffing pads after use and what do you use to clean them with

There are a bunch of ways to do it. The DP pad cleaner works well. Megs Super Degreaser works very good also. Dawn Power Dissolver definitely works on anything, but isn't as economical as the Megs or some other APC.

Warm water. Lake Country and Cyclo pads. Depending how cruddy they are the Oxy soak could be a full day or even two prior to the Maytag.

I use both the System 2000 and Universal Pad Washer. If my pads are really caked with polish or wax/sealants I will use Dawn Power Dissolver first.

I hate cleaning pads!

Yeah, no kidding!

I use warm water and some APC in a bucket and squeeze the heck out of them. If that doesn't do it, I will spray them with Dawn Power Dissolver and let it sit a few minutes while I make up another bucket of warm water and APC and squeeze the heck out of them again. I have never seen this not work.

If you use Power Dissolver, just make sure you rinse them thoroughly. Power Dissolver can sometimes be stubborn.

I followed the APC and the washer procedure it worked great.I then let the pads air dry and no problems,no residue left in the washer after !!! :yay
