how cold it too cold

I want to detail my car tomorrow, but the only problem is that it is going to be in the 30's low 40's. How long will Zaino take to cure in this weather with the ZFX? Will the polishes work fine in the cold. This will be my first time with a PC, and I want it to go right.

Your polishes should be fine to use. They just might be a little harder to use. As for Zaino I have no idea because I have never used it. Maybe someone can chime in about that.

That forecast sounds like good detail weather for our northern brethren, but you're in Texas! I'd wait a week for better weather!

As Scott said, your polishes will require a bit more work - particularly if it is humid. I find that cold humidity really affects diminishing polishes; if the car gets kind of damp you can't get the product to break down as well and if it gets too damp the product won't break down at all - I find that they get more abrasive than usual because you aren't breaking them down.

I've never used Zaino so I can't help you there...but seriously if you are a hobbyist you may be better off waiting. I know when I tried to detail in similar temperature conditions with the cold bringing humidity to the cars surface I was real sorry.

If you do go forward with your detail, I'm sure a lot of folks will be interested in the results.

I tried doing a quick Spray N Wipe on the car last week and it just froze on the car because of the wind chill. I just quit and went back in. Didn't seem that cold.

Haven't used Zaino, but NXT and EX-P worked fine at thirty, I just let sit for a pretty long time. I did about two hours while I did other chores. That was waaaaay more than needed I'm sure, but I got tied up.

cool, well I didn't get around to doing the full detail this weekend, ended up doing something else. It was a great thing too, b/c next saturday it'll be partly cloudy and 60!
