This thread is being posted with great pain and more than a little embarrassment. I have copied and pasted a few of the pm’s that I received from Phil regarding a thread he started on 3/15/05 in DC Swap Meet titled

CHEAP! PC for sale with all the goodies

Re: US Postal Service

Hey, my wife mailed it out, I just got back from Cleveland tonight and the package was sitting on my front porch. She sent it to the wrong address, luckily the person who recieved it returned it. I am going to mail it back out first thing mon. Im really sorry about this. I got your messages, but not until I came back to Pittsburgh. Ill let you know the tracking number tomorrow.

To date I have not received a tracking number, another pm, email or the equipment I paid Phil for and that he acknowledged that he received.

I learned that Phil isn’t even married. I think everyone here is getting the drift of what is going on. In reading posts in previous threads Phil has posted in, I believe he is very familiar with Ebay.

I am asking for help from anyone who would know what Phil’s username is on ebay. I am trying to determine if he has listed/sold this pc to someone else on another site.

I told Dwayne earlier I was purchasing this pc for a friend that had done some work for me, who had refused to take any money. This buddy is not a member of DC but really enjoys and takes pride in keeping his vehicles/motorcycle in premium condition. I thought this would make a great gift that he would use and I would feel better about the time he donated. Little did I know that there would have been fewer headaches and less money if I would have purchased a new pc with all the accessories.

Thank You,

Fatboy2 (also know as Dufas!)

As if this needs to be said, Phil no longer has access to Detail City and we are very disappointed that a longtime member has done something like this.

If anyone has any information that they can provide about Phil, please send the information to me or to Fatboy2.

Thank you.

He kept telling me he was building me a carpet extractor and I was all excited about getting it and then I read his e-bay feedback and it was horrible so I stopped responding to his pm's. I can not remember his e-bay name but if I find it I will let you know for sure.

Jerry,
I'm really sorry to see that you've apparently been stung by a long-time DC member. :(
I think we get "lulled" by the superior customer service given by our sponsors, and expect the same from our fellow "citizens". It doesn't seem unreasonable, but unfortunately, it sometimes is :(
I hope you can at least recoup your $$ & find another PC for your friend.
:bigups to Dwayne for his assistance :)
Norah

The PC arrived and I will put this to rest. Thanks to all for their assistance. It is unfortunate that it came to a contact from law enforcement but at any rate Phil ultimately mailed the PC.

I apologize for taking thread space but thought since this went public that in all fairness to Phil I should let others know that the PC did get delivered and Phil sent an email with an apology. I honestly hope things work out and get better in Phil's life.

If I could offer any suggestions in regard to transactions at DC or Anywhere it would be honesty, honesty, honesty, communications communications communications.

Thanks again,
Jerry

That's great news! Looks like "the word" got out on this guy and he decided to come through.

Too bad you had to go through all that trouble.
