Grout Sponge

So this sponge really replaces mostly all other sponges/mitts that people use to wash the car, since this releases a lot of dirt how a lot others dont. What about a shmitt? It is only $2 at Home depot. I am thinking of getting a few. I want to buy all new products.

All you can do is try it and see how you like it. Some people have tried the grout sponge and weren't comfortable with them and went back to their sheepskin mitt. Others have tried them and really like them. If you buy a single, and don't like it, you only spend $2 and you can surely find some other use for it.

I bought a 6-pak at HD late last summer for $9. I like them so far, and haven't detected any marring yet. I haven't used them on a REALLY DIRTY car yet, because I've been keeping my cars pretty clean since I got them, but so far so good.

This was my comical way of saying, "OH NO!!! Not another grout sponge thread!" :nervous2:

Yeah. There already a 27 page thread on grout sponges.

If a newbie asks a question w/o doing a search just don't respond to it if you don't want it to grow, or be friendly and encourage him/her to the previous threads. But I feel it is very unwelcoming and rude to make someone who came to Autopia for information and help feel stupid for asking a question. You guys have a lot of good information to share so don't be stingy with it or unwelcoming.

Also, the threads you don't wanna read about subjects that have been talked to death are only about as annoying as the ones where people complain... JMHO

hey I like GS threads :) I think we can get at least 50 posts in this one

I like the GS better than the Schmitt, I have the black (wheel/tire) one and the normal white/yellow one. I was using them, but then got hypnotized by SpoiledMan and carry a balled up GS in my pocket just in case

thanks to you SpoiledMan I ordered some Ultima but that is another topic ;)

While I agree with you in theory (help fellow man etc) it really is a waste of resources (band width)

Plus spoon feeding someone will give them info for the day, guiding them to the search function will feed them for life!!

I also agree that being rude is never the answer...

I found that when I first joined by doing my research and then asking questions gained a little "respect" and the vets were more willing to help me out

Chill bro, my post is far from a rant!!!

v., rant·ed, rant·ing, rants.

v.intr.

To speak or write in an angry or violent manner; rave.

v.tr.

To utter or express with violence or extravagance: a dictator who ranted his vitriol onto a captive audience.

n.

Violent or extravagant speech or writing.

A speech or piece of writing that incites anger or violence: “The vast majority [of teenagers logged onto the Internet] did not encounter recipes for pipe bombs or deranged rants about white supremacy (Daniel Okrent).

Chiefly British. Wild or uproarious merriment.

You my friend need help!!!

Wow lol. Its a forum. You come to a forum to discuss. IMO if you have the time to post things of ^^ that nature surely you could take 1/3 of the time and post your opinion on a sponge to a new member...

Edit: not you howa :)

Actually I thought that MotorCity's comment was rather humorous yet instructive. It was a gentle way of telling someone to do a little research. Also I have this fasination with the words grout sponge. It seems to be the passing fad right now.

Besides I have earned the right to go after blownvert (originator of the post) as payment for the counterweight that I sent to him. :dance Blownvert, how is that counterweight by the way?
