I have a 2001 Miata which I just bought. Here is a picture:

This will be my daily driver and I want to clean and wax it to improve the look and protect it for the winter. I bought some supplies and my plan is

Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover for tar and bugs

Wash with Sonus Gloss Shampoo

Clay with Sonus SFX Ultra-Fine Detailing Clay and Sonus Acrylic Spritz Detail Spray

Seal with Klasse AIO

Is this enough to make a difference, without spending days on the car? I only have a limited amount of time right now.

Thanks for any comments or advice.

Joe

If the paint is in good condition that is a decent start to get it cleaned up. The only problem is AIO won't offer much durability in the protection department. I'd top that with a good sealant or a durable wax like one of the Collinite's.

BTW, nice looking Miata :2thumbs:, and welcome to Autopia :welcome

Eliot Ness is correct about the AIO, its great at prepping the paint for a sealant or Collinite. I also use Klasse, I use the "sealant glaze" after the AIO ( the sealant glaze is also by Klasse ). I'm a fellow Miata owner, I'm able to put a layer of SG over the AIO in 15-20" by foam applicator. After the first application fo SG, I apply another quickie layer of it using a spray bottle with SG & H20 with a MF after every wash for a boost. Using the WOWO method and spray bottle, it takes 5" to do the whole car, looks fantastic, and plenty of protection for the winter.

I see you a new Miata owner, I'd like to invite you over to Miata.net, lots of great info, very friendly and helpful forum, they are how I found Autopia! Take care, Blain

'Thanks both for your help. I did not order the sealant with my initial order. If I get it later, I guess the best step would be to rewash, reapply AOI then seal? \r\n\r\nI also found out about this forum from miata.net, which was a great resource for me both in the buying stage and now in the owning stage.\r\n\r\nThanks,\r\nJoe'
