First Post (ever), New jeep Clean-up

First time posting here, I hope this is in the right section, and properly formatted.....

I'm a "clean car" nerd. Back in the day, dad and I used to wash, compound, and carnuba wax the 1973 midnight Blue caddy by hand every few weekends. After 12 years, the car still looked like it came off the showroom. Never a swirl mark that I could remember, but dad always paid attention to the "details" and made sure the chamois was clean, and never touched the ground.

Now, I have my own family, and it was time to purchase a 2nd vehicle for daughter 1 to use for school, and practice. Tired of always having the traditional 4 door sedan, we surpised the girls with this new Jeep Wrangler, 2012 Sport Unlimited. Yeah, we're the cool parents on the block at the moment. We picked Gecko Green, now we can see her coming, and leaving the 'hood, and even the resource officer at school notices when she arrives. Mission accomplished.

The First Picture is the night we brought it home last week. Happy kid poses near the car. You can see all the goop on the tires the dealer sent us home with . Picked up every bit of dust, and flung all over the side fender, and wheel wells. Not my style.

Here's the car after 2 days of prepping, cleaning, and polishing.

My process was:

1. Wash with dawn, top to bottom

2. Clay the entire car, pretty gross how much stuff comes off a factory new car.

3. Rewash, inspect, removed a few easy surface blems with scratch X remover from megquires

4. Decontaminate with that smelly stuff from Carpro - IronX, wow, amazing stuff.

5. Rinse

6. Dry

7. 3 coats of Cquartz with a coat of Reload between each coat.

8. 303 Protectant on Soft Top, and all Black fender/bumper/tires/mirrors/dash, and door handles

9. Shower.

10. Beer.:chuckle:

All lists should have 10 items......so I had to do it.

I gotta hand it to you guys, my hands, back, shoulders, fingers, and legs are dead. I ride a bike 200+ miles per week and race, but this is killing me. Doing it day in and out is tough work.

Thanks for checking out the photo's and my first post. I really enjoy the hobby of car care. All 3 of my vehicles are always ready for date night with the mrs.
