This was my second detail, But my first real detail with the PC. It was done on my brother in laws 97 VW Jetta. I used Meguiar's #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish and Meguiar's #80 Speed Glaze. I polished the car over a few weeks Time a few hours here a few hour there.
I learned alot from with these polishes(#83,#80) pads (Meguiar's Cutting polishing finishing) and PC that I'm sure I could use down the road. I used DACP with Meguiar's Burgundy cutting 2 applications,(polishing pad did nothing) If you use this combo on PC, You are warned it left the black finish I was working on very hazy. I then tried DACP/polishing pad and it cleaned the hazing up I would say about 40%. Then I used #80 for 2 applications, 3 in some spots, to remove the hazing completely. The finish #80 left was a very nice. It look very wet and clear!
I then used VM with LC white pad and WOW! VM blew my mind, the car had to look better then any other black car I have seen on the road. At this point, I was saying to my self, could this get any better? I knew I had to seal or wax. So I used EXP with Meguiar's finishing pad, I have to say it was hard to tell if did anything at first, the surface was so slick and glossy already, but it did! It actually took away a bit of slickness, but added a nice clear reflective shine over the VM. So I waited a few days and did another coat of EXP. I then Followed with Meguiar's 16 Professional Paste Wax. I noticed that 16 did not do to much for appearance, I don't think I gave 16 a fair chance, with all the stuff that was already on the finish. But all I know is that the car didn't get any worst with 16, but it beads like a monster, and it shouldn't have any trouble making it through winter.
Here are some pics. If you have any question post or PM me.
