Drove my black Pathfinder through wet paint that some bonehead spilled on the road. It has dried rather quickly. Any ideas how to get it off my baby????

Thanks for your help!

I agree with the above idealogy of least aggressive first. But solvents are the lowest of this scale.

Re-suspension (dissolving) of the offending paint would be the least aggressive in my book. A saturated rug with plan old gasoline will do the trick. Do not forget the undercarriage, wheelwells, suspension components, inside of tires and rims, etc. Follow with a claying session for the smooth painted surfaces, a good wash of all areas ( panels, wheelwell, undercarriage, and suspension parts) where the solvent was used. Re-apply protectant of choice.

For household type 'latex' paint try Goof-Off, it's available at most home supply stores. Just be sure to follow the label instructions. Also, it's a good idea to follow-up with your favorite polish and wax afterwards. Here's a link to the Goof-Off site; http://www.goof-off.com/

Totally agree, I have used 3m's adhesive/tar remover in the past with excellent results......Careful with Goofoff around plastic, for that matter, any "dissolver" product....then like BlackZ said, clay, wash, polish, reseal/wax....
