Couple of VM, AIO questions

Just got my VM delivered and having never used it I have a few questions. The first question I have is about product combination. I was thinking VM, AIO, EXP, PS but was wondering if the VM and AIO aren't duplicate steps. My car is in pretty good shape, I've only had it two months and I've been pretty careful so far (learned a whole lot here). I've never used either VM or AIO so any input would be appreciated. Also, I'll be applying by hand so any tips on using VM by hand would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pick either AIO or VM, as they will most likely remove each other. Since you are using EX-P, I would suggest using VM.

I've never used VM by hand but it's very liquidy and a little goes a long long way with a machine. So the only advice I can give you is don't use too much product and make sure your applicator is not like a sponge material b/c it will just soak up all the VM (b/c it's so liquidy).

I've also never used AIO by hand but I hear it's actually quicker by hand, that is if your paint is in good shape already (which yours is!). Also, most people recommend just wiping it on and wiping it right off but our devoted Mayor here at Autopia, DavidB, seems to believe AIO needs time to bond. The way I see it is, letting it sit on there is not hurting anything, and I'm pretty sure David knows what he's talking about!

You have some good products and best of luck!

id rather use VM w/ the PC but you can use it by hand not a problem. it goes on and off w/ease. AIO on the other hand if your applying it by hand use it sparingly and try to spray the MF applicator w/ some qd not much but just a little then apply the AIO then remove.

You dont need to do all those steps cause AIO is a cleaner and VM has some cleaners in it but its considered a glaze.

you can do AIO/EXP/PS or VM/EXP/PS or AIO/PS or VM/PS

VM and AIO would be duplicate steps, so choose either one.

i think VM is the easier of the two, but AIO isn't *that* difficult to use either.

if you use VM, you can use a regular foam applicator, and a little bit goes a long way. spread it out thinly on the paint, and wipe off with MF towel. you could do a panel and then wipe off, or do the whole car and then wipe off. either way, so long as you spread it on thinly, it should come off really easily. then you can go EX-P topped with PS.

VM does have very light abrasives, so you can use it prior to AIO and AIO will not interfere with the light polishing of VM but I agree with the others, go with one or the other since the end result is pretty similar.

Thanks for all the input. I'll just go with either the AIO or the VM then top with EXP then PS. Now the hard part is choosing which one!

Just a thought. Since you are going to do this by hand, I'd actually lean toward VM since it's a glaze. A glaze will hide more imperfections than a cleaner will (by hand). Both will produce a great finish, but I've only ever used a PC for applying these.
