Could Zaino provide a greater POP than this?

Started out using Zaino when it first came out. Switched to Menzerna FPII, AIOX2, SGX6, S100 or PPG and then Clearkote Quickshine Detailer.

This paint is a light blue that is very hard to get depth out of. Custom ghost flames on various parts of the car compound the problem.

I compete with this thing in a very tough class at car shows. Guys can easily dump way much more money than I can afford into their 50's cars. I do get em on the paint (thanks to all here). You can't believe what you see guys do to their $70,000 cars before shows - rubbing dirty terry cloth towels on the paint, window cleaner as a detailer. Autopians would drop over.

It seems that I can get more "POP" than "Depth" out of this paint.

I've done dark colored cars and have been able to successfully achieve that deep look.

Wondering if I should try the latest offering of Zaino products and just try and get as much reflection as I can without worrying about the depth that I am able to achieve on darker colors.

Opinions?

Bottom line-Zaino isn't a miracle product. Now that that's out of the way-Zaino is supposed to look very good under indoor lights. I'd try a variety of different products. IMO if you polish it with a fine finishing polish you probably won't see much difference between most top tier products.

Very nice '57! If I recall, isn't that an older SS paint? That might play a part in what members suggest you try.

I sort of go along with some of the others in that you'll just have to experiment to find the look you want. Being a light SS paint you might not get depth you're after, but it still looks very good. I'd also go along with giving ClearKote CMW a shot. Shoot me a PM if you'd like a small sample of CMW along with some other ClearKote samples that might help add some depth.

Maybe try some ClearKote CMW for more depth.

I'd agree. Most sealants are just going to make that color more reflective and glossy....but if that is the look you like, you can't go wrong with Zaino.

The car below is close to the color of yours and here is what I have found...

1. RMG/PS looks really good but seems to loose in shine department has some depth but not like and black or red.

2. Zaino wins in the Shine department but looses in the depth and warmth, probably if the paint had some metallic it would look better.

3. UPP looked like Zaino and I think it would also benefit from metallic paints.

4. NXT really looked good just not really fond of the product, seem to add some depth and still maintain a decent amount of shine.

5. Trade Secrets had lots of shine some depth but not a really eye popping show stop shine either but would be my second choice.

6. I finally settled on EX which gives decent shine and good depth/wetness and if I want to increase the depth a layer no Natty Blue. The best of both worlds.

But if I do a inside show I still use a good glaze like #7 or RMG as the LSP!!

On my black street rod I still use RMG/PS - red street rod is Trade Secerts are my still favorites.

Glade you don't go the same shows I go to - those are beautiful car and should win everytime.
