I have a new M3 but I'm afraid to wash it:scared

I dont want to mess up the finish, No matter how good I took care of my harley, I still got those damn swirls in the finish.

What would be the best, most effective method of a nice finish.

I wash and rinse off dirt, soap up with say turtle wax brand

car wash soap?

wipe down-n- dry, now the part that gets me crazy:::

What should I apply the wax with?

what wax is a good one?

How long do I let it dry?

How and what do I use to get the wax off, a chamio????

What motion do I go in?

How do I avoid swirls??

I sorry to come on so strong with the questions on my first post.

I hope to get some help from you people cause I need it:sosad

Your best bet is to download the e-book. That will give you the basic information you need, then do a search of polishes and waxes in the detailing and university forum as well as go through the product review forum so you can get a basic idea of what types of products you think will work for you.

Don't be afraid of swirls. Unless you park the car in a dark, dust free, sterile environment then you are going to have to maintain your beautiful shine. Swirls are going to happen no matter what you do. Its just what happens. Just get the know-how on what you need to do to take them out when you get them. Spend some time searching through the threads here and you'll find your answers. :welcome to Autopia! :wavey

I cant belive you guys didn't tear me up, considering

it was my first post/thread.

Yeh, I guess there is stoping the swirls, as far as getting them out

do you know if 3M swirl remover works.

3M for my M3

You will learn that people here are really nice when it comes to beginners. Just a few things that you have probably picked up by now. To apply anything to your paint, use a microfiber cloth. There are a few dealers here on this board. (PakShak is the only one i know off the top of my head)

Second. I would avoid any detailing items that have the word "turtle" in it. Turtle wax is way too overrated. You will learn there are much better products on the shelf for just a few dollars more. And if you really want to get into it you can get the waxes offline that run into 50+ dollars. I recomend P21s or S100 but it depends on the color of your car.

Like what was said before, just search the boards and learn as you go. Happy Detailing. WELCOME
