I just wanted to say that I just cometed the best detailing job in my life. To me three things add up to be a satisfactory detail job. One, the car. Two, the overall difference in appearence. And three, the owner satisfaction. Well a cousin of mine is a car buff, a collector really. Hes fortunate enough to be able to own and old 60s Rolls (forget the year), a 1993 Bentley, and a Porsche 993 targa. Needless to say he has it set finantially. He is also very anal about his cars, he loves them and could defnaely qualify as an Autopian. I was driving stick with him one day and mentioned my own little detailing enterprize i have, and he said hed let me work on the Porsche, which neede work. He brought it over along with (argh) some "of his own detailing stuff that he likes to use. This is a small pet peeve of mine, I have more than enough GREAT products. Anyway, he really seemd suprised at how much i knew and how I was actually teaching him a few things, and finnaly left the car with me.

The car was recently washed so i didn't have much dirt to deal with. It was visibly marred by buffer marks all over the car, and had a few mild scratches here and there. I was a little unsure that i could get these out. I started with ABC, and it worked great, and got the car nice and clean. Most of the IFO though was quite old and well imbeded into the paint, so i had to clay as well, including the windows. The clay, AutoInts (which i normally dont like, but only had) worked wonders. The finish was nice and smooth. Next i attempted to tackle the marring. I started with PI Machine Glaze with the yellow pad...then stepped up to the wool pad, buti was only making small dents. So I grabed the PC, a wool pad, and some FI-2...if the swirls didnt come out with this, then god help us all. I started w/ the PC at 5, spread the polish around with a few good passes. Then i set the speed to 6, and used moderate pressure, and SLOWLY lightened up. When the machine was barely touching, I then made another pass with pressure, then again with very light pressure. This took a long time, and the polish was a ***** to clean up.

Besides some streaks and a few deeper scratches, the finish looked OK, there was littlle or no hazing from the FI-2, so i whent right to BF polish. This is when the car started to look great. I cleane up very nicely after the FI, and left beautiflu finish. It was almost flawless. This kind of stuff is what gets me exited. Next I followed up with two coats of BF Protectant. This helped to deepen and brighten the finish, which now looked amazing.

During washing i de-gresed the engine, and now i dressed it up with 303. I tried 303's method of spraying directly into the compartment, and using an air blower to get the 303 into all the cracks and bots of the engine to protect it. Besides using slightly more product (so thats why they recomend it) it worked great, and i wiped it dry with a rag. Engine looked much better.

Dressed the tires and trim with 303, and used Forever Black to re-dye the wheel wells, spots on the trim and under the gas tank hatch thingy (Im really tired).

Interior was in great shape, just vacuum, cleaned with Griots and dressed with 303.

My cousin was very pleased, and before he was a little weary of my cost, but after he saw the car he tipped my 25 extra bucks. Sory this is so long, just wanted to let my fellow autopians, who helped my get to this point.
