Collinite and filling

After seeing a few suggestions here on the forum, I decided to try a vinyl eraser for removing residue from exterior trim. Being an (almost) ex-carnuba user, I had several places on my trim that were stained with white residue. In addition, I had some OLD pre-Autopia residue on the sunroof and window trim.

Most of the residue was on the side body molding. On my car, this stuff is a hard, textured black plastic.

Results were excellent. Took the residue off immediately, and didn't leave anything ugly behind. Simply rubbed the eraser gently over the stained areas and then dusted off the eraser remains. The sharp corners of the eraser were GREAT at getting some stubborn stains out of the edges of the sunroof trim.

I'll give it two two thumbs up! :up :up

Here's a pic of what I used (got a pack of 4 at Staples for about $1.50)

YEah an official review of the Eraser!!!

They also sell them in little clicker thingys that look like pens. They work great for those little areas you see a few days later.

Ps I use a china bristle brush for dusting the shavings away.

Even though I don't get any on my trim :D I'll try them on a "friend's" car. :xyxthumbs Nice review btw. Never even heard of the things.

great idea - gotta try that.

Should be pointed out that erasers are fairly abrasive - if we are careless enough to get wax on the moulding, we are also capable of inadvertently rubbing the paint with the eraser. (OK, maybe none of you - but I know I am!) Anyway - use care - 'cuz they can scratch/haze your paint.

I know the feeling. I LOVE my PC, but I have a tendency to get a little PC-Crazy and bump the trim. Hasn't been a problem since I switched to BF, but still have some old carnuba stains left behind.

Besides, I know that carnuba sniffing is a sickness that you never get over, and sooner or later (probably sooner) my addiction is going to force me to put a topper on that BF! :xyxthumbs
