Colinite 845 or WG sealant?

all in the details
Hi all.
In preparation for the Canadian winter(extremely cold/lots of salt) I have two products in my possession but would like your opinion on which one would lasts /protects longer.
1) WG deep gloss sealant.
2) Colinite 845
If you have tried both (in past winters) please let me know what is your preference?
In my humble opinion I think both will do a good job as far as protection goes but Coilinte might last longer ,am I out to lunch:confused:
I wonder how could an "insulator wax" be more durable than a great sealant like WG?
Thank you.
Ken.

I'd have to give the nod to the 845, it's pretty good stuff. The WG looks good, but IMO, lacks serious durability to get through a hard winter. An even better choice would be Collinite 476. That is a hard paste wax but it's a tad more durable than the 845 and would be my choice for a hard winter. Just make sure you apply thin coats for easier removal.

The collinite will last you the winter...WG is a nice looker..but not very durable....or you could use the WG as your sealant and then add the colllinite on top...the collinite will help the Wg last a bit longer....since the elements will not get to it as fast..the wax will be your sacrificial barrier protecting your sealant

Thank you both,If I use colinite over WG,wouldn't the solvents in Colinite remove whatever is under it?

Thats a hard question to answer..there is no definative way of knowing...lol....I was on the yes wagon for a long time since 845 is loaded with a solvent....I asked Mike at collinite and said depends on the sealant....the solvent used is called Stoddard solvent..he also mentioned that there is a silicone product in it..but would not define what ...lol....whether its a polymer or not is unknown....but for it to last like it does its pretty good.....but I now use a collinite paste wax...but thats a solvent base also...as most waxes are...

so to answer your question....I do not know....and no real way of knowing

Al thank you for your input ,I must say I'm really impressed with the performance /durability of Colinite 845 so far,and I'll see how long it will protect the paint this winter.

John, you seem to like the paste version better,I'll keep that in mind when 845 is finished ,(which will take a while LOL)
Thanks for your reply.

I've used both and as many have said the Wolfgang will look better, especially on black but the Collinite will last longer.

distrbd...I still like 845....its a great product...I just like the paste wax like 915..855 or 467s for winter use...I use 2 coats over a sealant....but I use 845 for my wheels and the painted areas in my engine compartment and on hard glossy plastic trim.... and on chrome...and inside door jams and doors....

In fact here is what I will do for you...PM me your address and I will send you a sealant I have been testing for 6 months now....I know this stuff will go the winter no problem...and topped with 845 will give you a bullet proof protection....it is a acrylic urethane based sealant and I think 845 will not touch it as far as solvents....

WOW,Thanks Al,You have already helped me a lot ,Now I'm curious to know what this sealant is,maybe I can find it here or online,U got PMd.
