Will clay barring remove KSG.Just curious?Already did 3d layer of KSG and planning to top up with P21S to get the wet look thet i like.::confused: :o

Detailerâ€â„¢s clay will remove most Carnauba and synthetic waxes as they adhere to paint surface (as opposed to bonding) Polymers and acrylics (Klasse) form a molecular bond to the paint and require either a solvent or an abrasive product to remove them. Although clay contains am abrasive itâ€â„¢s a mild one (with the exception of paint-overspray type clay) and will not remove a molecular bonded products.

Depends on how gently you clay. I spot clay with every wash, and it sure doesn't remove an appreciable amount of LSP for me. The SG X many on our MPV holds up to many, many clayings. But you gotta be very gentle about it, just aggressive enough that the clay *cleans* the LSP, but not aggressive enough that the clay *removes* the LSP.

TOGWT- I'm starting to think that I must be unusually gentle about how I clay. Even the carnauba on my wife's A8 holds up to repeated clayings, not what one might expect, huh?

I've been concerned about that in the past. I was in the process of preping my car for a car show and had multiple layers of WG on the car and I had just put my first carnauba topper on it. I drove to work and got hit with overspray of some sort. I very lightly clayed the car the next morning (day of the show) and washed it again prior to putting my final coat of wax on. There was no difference in water reaction on the surface and there weren't any visual differences after I very lightly clayed the overspray off. It worked well as long as you don't use pressure and stop claying when the area is cleaned up. If you haven't put a new coat of SG on for awhile then you probably just need to put another coat on anyway, but I believe that you can lightly clay over even wax and still leave the product unharmed.
